Little E turns 1

Tuesday, September 23, 2014
For the last several years, I've gotten to photograph Jen and Lester through their engagement, wedding, and the birth of their son.  Recently I had the honor to photograph him as he celebrated his first birthday! He is quite the sharp little guy, talking, walking, and loving his parents to bits!
I simply love this photo of Jen and E enjoying a sweet baby kiss!
Such a character. Checkin' out those cars.

September birthday boys

Tuesday, September 18, 2012
I just can't believe this little guy is a whole year old already.
And walking. And talking. And laughing at nap time. Now that is some serious maturity right there...

And this guy... already hitting the mark of 4! Can't believe it!  I love seeing two brothers with birthday in the same month, as I am getting ready for that myself come December.

 Just can't beat baby feet!

Wheee!
Many happy birthdays to a family I love!

Big Brother B

Thursday, April 26, 2012
My last blog post was a sleepy, cozy, quiet set of images of a newborn.  Let's say that today is after nap time. It's time to play with big brother B to celebrate him turning 2!

 Happy Birthday, Big Brother B!

Cupcake Celebration

Monday, February 1, 2010
Saturday morning was full of yet another messy little girl's photo shoot.  This one was, however, much more delicious!  It was a first birthday celebration with Cupcakery cupcakes!  They happen to be perfection in a cupcake. No exaggeration required.  It's just that true.

I had my breath taken away while looking into her little eyes. They just suck you in like the ocean.

Remember this? Same little girl... We're still trying to get them to kiss.

Golashes, Lollipops, and Sun(ee) on a Cloudy Day

Monday, January 25, 2010
We knew it was going to rain, but rain it did not.  I thought it would be warm-ish, but rather... it was frigid.  At least it was Sunee!  Well, it was tragically cloudy, but a precious, one-week-shy-of-her-big-second-birthday girl named Sunee was having her pictures taken. In golashes. With a raincoat. And a matching lollipop!  Which... led to a matching tongue. And lips. And teeth.

Following our cold adventure, we came inside for some pretty "princess" pictures in a nice pink dress. Every little girl wants that, right?  Well, not Saturday. She decided that body-slamming and shovels were more up her alley, so we might have to revisit that idea another day.

But what's even better than shovels? PAINT!

After her tongue returned from blue to pink, she was hard at work- tongue and all.

Happy Birthday, Babyson!

One year ago this moment, I was in hard labor. We were listening to David Crowder Band's Remedy Album, and singing the phrase "things will never be the same, never be the same, never be the same..."  Oh, how true those lyrics were.  I was just a mere hour and half away from becoming a mother.

This year has been like most - both seeming to last a lifetime by encompassing so much and rushing by like a bone-chilling wind.  It begs me to ask the questions, "Has it already been a year?" and "All that happened this year? It feels like so long ago."  When I contemplate how much a baby changes in one year, the developments, and the growth, my mind gets dizzy.  Literally, right now, I am dizzy.

Eli just woke up from his nap. He's kind of sick today. On his birthday.  I'll be right back.

From the day he was born, he's fought to keep his head up.  At first we were amazed.  If only now, he'd learn to put it down.  Still not a great sleeper, but lovely when he does.

At 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and today at 12 months, I recorded him in his crib to track his growth visually.  Here is a side-by-side view of each session.  Each one more and more difficult as he grew into a flurry of activity.  Today's was a feat, accomplished only with the aid of graham crackers as bait.
As I was editing this morning, I recalled this other image from 6 months.  He posed himself just about the same.

Waving goodbye to all his adoring fans... The prince of Haarlem will celebrate his first birthday on a flight to Texas to visit his Nana & PopPop!

Due to our travel plans, the little fella doesn't have his 12 month stats to report.  But we'll give you the info after the new year when we find out!  He's a big, big fella.  24 month clothes on a 12 month baby.

Birthday Pictures, Part 2

Wednesday, September 9, 2009
Today, I finished up the birthday pictures from the rain-out of the weekend. We had high hopes of taking pictures in our neighborhood (these are some of my neighbors), and I'd scoped out this awesome fence at a daycare down the road from our homes. I'd contacted the daycare in person and on the phone to ask the owner about taking pictures on the property since it's near kids. I never heard back so we were nervous... but our hopes were not dashed. They weren't sure why were camping out in their "front yard," but they let us stay. And we got some super cute shots!

I wasn't intentionally taking matching mommy and daddy shots, since these were at opposite ends of the shoot, but I love how similar they are.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Anrazel!

This morning, I photographed a double-birthday-doozy! It was a photoshoot for the first birthday of BBZ (his awesome blogger name), but it was actually on his mom's birthday! What a fun birthday weekend.

It has been raining for hours, so our shoot was cut short. We stuck to the house for today, and we'll venture out into the neighborhood in a few days. Stay tuned later this week for the second half of our adventure.

Here are a few of my favorites from the morning.

He is simply a flurry of activity, rushing from one thing to the next. This shows his personality so well!
