Sweet Baby M

Thursday, July 31, 2014
This last week, sweet baby M got to celebrate turning one month old by getting photographed with her delightful parents.  This summer baby had the perfect pallet to show off these bright summer days!

She is simply beautiful, getting that from her parents, and has the biggest, lovely eyes taking in the wonderful world around her. I even have some photos where her eyes are so intent on looking out that I can see the reflection of myself photographing her in glassiness of her dark eyes.
Heba is such an adoring new mom, with great love for her new daughter.
Lotfi's eyes just melt when he sees his little girl.

She wasn't too intent on sleeping, but for one brief moment, we got to see how little she is in this great big world. Welcome, baby M!

CowCow has a new friend

About 6 years ago, I think it was, I photographed CowCow. And now he's back, with a new Rhino friend.  And CowCow's dedicated owner, L, has a new baby sister, I.

I know this sweet look on Mama J's face well. It's full of a tender, yet fierce love for her family.
Can't get much better than this. Love you guys so much! Welcome to the world, Baby I!

This year I aimed to create a few personal projects to keep my eye attuned to the details that drew me into photography in the first place.  When I was a wee lass, I used to love the concept that art and photography could take something ordinary and make it extraordinary.

Over the next few weeks, I aim to fine tune a few of these projects and post them here.

Through the use of color, geometry of setting, and isolation, I've a few photographs to share from a recent outing with my family.  Who knew that milkshakes and french fries could lead to something like this?

[Also, to challenge myself even more, I've been trying to capture things that I enjoy even at the end product with my husband's phone. This is one such example.]
