sweetness of summer, part two

happy birthday to me! (and about a bazillion other friends and family members)

When I was a kid, I thought the fireworks on July 4th were for my birthday. They aren't, but I still like to think so. My birthday isn't even on the fourth. I LOVE my birthday. Having a summer birthday means I never had to go to school, and considering the various flexible jobs I've held over the years, I've never had to work on my birthday either. This year is a first. I am photographing a wedding on my birthday, and to be honest, I am kind of excited.

Here's me and Eli on my birthday last year. Thanks to Casey for an awesome picture of "me."

What's that, you say? You want to give me a birthday present? I thought so... For every session booked* during July, Purple Lemon Photography will donate a bio sand water filter to an Asian village through Gospel for Asia, one of the organizations that our company supports.

Not sure what I am talking about? Purple Lemon Photography does not exist solely to support ourselves. Both through time and money, we support international missionaries and local not-for-profit organizations. We support Gospel for Asia, Young Life International, The Bridge, Oasis International, World Impact, Partners for Just Trade, disaster relief, and various individuals serving as both long and short-terms missionaries with organizations like Campus Crusade, Portage Perspectives, and Teach Overseas.

*booked means that you schedule it during July, not that you have to have the session it July- it could be for, say, September or next February.
