Hiking

Monday, August 17, 2009
Every photographer would be happy if there was easy access to a great meadow near their home or studio, in which to photograph people in a vast expanse of tall grasses and pure outdoor lovliness. When the littlest member of our family and I took a trip to Texas, we met a woman on the plane, dear soul who sat next to us on a baby's first airplane ride, and anyway she is a hiker and told me about a trail near us which has a conveniently located meadow, open for traipsing and picture taking. Perfect. My husband and I like to go on short hikes.

We took our son on his first hike this past weekend. I think he loved it- if smiles, kicks, and giggles are his measure of love. I had no intention of posting any of the shots until I remembered that I was going to find this meadow, after all. And unless this nice lady's meadow was a soccerfield or this:
I totally missed it or it doesn't exist. I am still on the hunt. And since I live in a city, this might be a long hunt.

Anyhow, I got some "rave reviews" on some of the hiking pictures, so I thought I'd post a couple.

And lastly, one for kicks, just as we were packing up for home:
